David Hearn: From K900 to Sorento

22. December 2015 11:12 by Administrator | 0 Comments

David Hearn caught Kia Canada’s attention in 2011 when he was named SCOREGolf’s Canadian Male Pro Golfer of the Year. With a return to the PGA Tour in 2011, where he’s had four solid seasons, he’s become known for a sharp short game and consistent play. Hearn was a perfect fit for the Kia brand because while being an elite-level athlete, he’s a devoted family man.     “Kia is a car that I trust personally, with the style and quality I need for both myself and my family. As much as I love golf, my family is what matters most. It is important for me to partner with a quality company like Kia”. As a proud ambassador, Hearn represents Kia on the PGA Tour, wearing the Kia logo on the chest of his golf shirt. He also represents Kia off the course – using the vehicles as his family’s daily driver. Over the past year, he’s been driving in style in the K900. He and his family were very impressed with Kia’s luxury car. With its incredibly quiet interior and powerful V8, they not only found it fun to drive, but more than deserving of its premium designation. As a family man, Hearn was looking for safety first and given the many features included, the K900 definitely stood out. He also required a practical vehicle with enough room for his family, luggage and of course, his clubs. Now, whenever he talks about Kia to friends on tour, he recommends the K900 to everyone, as he feels it stacks up with the best manufacturers in the world. Next year, Hearn will be driving the All-New 2016 Sorento. He and his family are looking forward to getting into the new model, having enjoyed another Sorento in the past. Getting back into an SUV means even more cargo space than before – which is most welcome when travelling to airports and tournaments with two kids and luggage for all. Another reason they’re looking forward to getting into the Sorento is its Dynamax All-Wheel Drive system. Not only will it provide them with the safety and comfort they need, but the capability to handle Canadian winters with ease. To hear what David Hearn had to say about his experience in Kia vehicles, check out the video below! The 2016 Sedona: Safety First

4. November 2015 13:29 by Administrator | 0 Comments

The all-new 2016 Sedona features beautifully crafted, luxurious features like the available Nappa leather wrapped, reclining, heated rear seats with leg rests and available tri-zone automatic climate control. Which is why you’d never want to see it in any dire situations, like dangling from a crane for example. But sometimes to prove a point, you need to go to extreme lengths – or heights. You see, in the case of the Sedona, these luxurious features weren’t the first thing on our engineers’ minds – the families who will be driving it were. So before thinking of how many cup holders should be included and what seating material families would enjoy, they instead thought of how we can make this the safest possible vehicle for families to enjoy. Safety starts from the ground up. With the Sedona, that means using 52% advanced high-strength steel throughout the body to provide front and roof reinforcement as well as front and side impact dispersion to ensure your family’s protection in the event of a collision. Working with this rigid structure is an advanced system of front-impact airbags, front seat-mounted side-impact airbags and full-length side curtain airbags. But to prevent a collision from occurring is a long list of active safety systems like the Electronic Stability Control (ESC) system, the Traction Control System (TCS), Cornering Brake Control (CBC) and many more advanced systems that gives you assured command of the road. Now, of course seeing all of this hard work being dropped 41 feet from a crane would be an utter shame. But to demonstrate how all of this focus on safety has paid off and why the Sedona is so deserving of a Top Safety Pick by IIHS and a 5-Star Safety Rating by NHTSA, we did just that in a new kind of crash test video and we’d love for you to see the results below.   Learn more about the all-new 2016 Sedona and all of its safety features at www.kia.ca/Sedona

Kia Canada Sends Two Superfans to Korea as part of Customer Loyalty Program 2015

7. October 2015 11:06 by Administrator | 0 Comments

Since 2012, Kia Canada has scoured the country to find the ultimate Superfan. Now in its third year, Kia is offering two grand prizes of round trips to Korea where winners will enjoy a 3-night and 4-day stay, from September 21st to 25th as well as a guided tour of Kia headquarters and the cultural cityscapes of Seoul, South Korea.  To win, fans had up to 2,000 words to explain what makes them the biggest Kia Superfan. This year’s winners are:  Frederick Alarie and his wife Isabelle have been part of the Kia family for fourteen years. Their four children keep them young at heart and their Kia vehicles in good use. Over the years, they have enjoyed three Sedona models and a Soul to “taxi” their children to all their events and activities. Next on their radar is the newest generation Soul to add to their charming family. As huge soccer fans, Frederick and Isabelle look forward to supporting their favourite MLS team: the Montreal Impact along with their healthy growing band of Kia enthusiasts. We think the Alarie family members are our most enthusiastic Superfans yet!      Dan MacNeil fell in love with the Optima for its sleek, sophisticated body lines and high-performance handling. Dan and his wife have 5 kids, so the Optima was always out of reach until last year when this longtime admirer and advocate finally got the “go-ahead” from his wife to purchase his sporty Optima. Now, he is eager to make other drivers jealous of his 6th ”baby.”     Some of our previous Superfan winners have shared their wonderful stories and even started a following! They are:   Sebastien Fortin, who after buying a Forte Koup SX in 2010 started a Forte car club in Quebec. Since its beginning, the club has expanded to include all Kia models and now has almost 1,400 members.   Elaine Baird, who bought a Soul in 2011, named it "Emma” and created a fantastic blog about it.   Trevor Smith, who bought a Rondo in 2008 and traded it for a 2012 Kia Soul. Trevor is a regular contributor to online Kia forums, with thousands of posts since 2007.   David Poirier, who has owned five Kia vehicles since 1999 and even convinced his father to buy Kia vehicles. Since then, he and his father have owned eleven Kias between them. In 2012, he drove up to his wedding in a brand new Kia Rio. Join us in celebrating Kia’s superfans and global ambassadors! We aim to continue this contest in the years to come in celebration of our loyal and extraordinary Kia fans. This program and contest celebrates loyal and extraordinary Kia fans by bringing them closer to the heart of its origins and rewarding them with a trip of a lifetime.

J.D. Power thinks the 2015 Kia Sedona is APEAL-ing. We agree!

22. July 2015 15:35 by Administrator | 0 Comments

We are thrilled to announce that the 2015 Kia Sedona has won the APEAL award in the J.D. Power Minivan segment. APEAL stands for: A Pretty Extraordinary Automotive League (just kidding) but it might as well! The study in fact looks at Automotive Performance, Execution, and Layout (APEAL) of a particular vehicle.  Historically with our brand, the APEAL award has usually been associated with the Kia Soul which, before this year had won the award three consecutive years in a row in the Compact Multi-Purpose vehicle segment. However, this year it’s the Sedona’s turn in the spotlight. When designing the Sedona, Kia wanted to put families first. The Smart-Power Liftgate, dual panoramic sunroofs, and unparalleled safety features helped achieve this task. The Sedona reinvents what a minivan should be: not only safe and reliable but premium, luxurious, and built with cutting edge design. As the Kia brand continues to grow and improve, we are both overjoyed and humbled by the recognition our vehicles are getting. Along with the J.D Power IQS awards we received for the Kia Soul and the Kia Sorento, this has been one of the best years yet! We are movin’ on up- and we can’t wait to share the ride with all of you!
